We created an outdoor sunroom that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing for a private courtyard home in Florida, USA. The area is affected by hurricanes all year round, with rainy summers and plenty of light. The client wanted a light, hurricane-proof, rain-proof retreat that could accommodate family gatherings and outdoor lounging without taking up too much space on the patio. Location and Environmental Challenges: The project is located on the east side of the residential courtyard, adjacent to the main building, on a level lawn site that requires integration into the courtyard landscape and wind-resistant structural stability. With an average of 3.2 hurricanes per year in Peninsula Florida and frequent short-term rainfall in the summer, the core of the design needed to address: Structural wind pressure during hurricane season (target wind rating ≥180km/h); Waterproofing and sealing during heavy rains;…
This residence is located in a temperate continental climate zone. In winter, it is cold and snowy; in summer, it is hot with intense sunlight; and in spring and autumn, there is a significant temperature difference between day and night. Customer expectations: Build a sunroom that can be used comfortably throughout the four seasons. It should be able to effectively withstand -20℃ temperatures in winter, deal with temperatures above 30℃ in summer, and adapt to the large temperature differences between day and night in spring and autumn. Ensure that the sunroom has good lighting performance and can effectively shade from the sun when needed, protecting privacy. The structure should be sturdy and durable, capable of withstanding heavy snow loads in winter and possible severe weather such as storms in summer, while controlling the overall construction and later maintenance costs. For a modern building project in Qatar, we created a professional medium-sized sliding skylight system that perfectly combines functionality and aesthetics. customer expectation: First, it needs a large area of light but must avoid high indoor temperature; second, the skylight needs to be opened and closed flexibly and conveniently in order to adapt to the changing use of the scene; third, the overall design needs to be in line with the positioning of the building's modern and minimalist style. The site survey showed that the top of the building was a flat structure with a regular space in the installation area, which provided ideal conditions for the smooth operation of the pan-tilt skylight. Design solution: Our design solution adopts a high-strength aluminum alloy track system with double-layer insulating Low-E glass, which ensures excellent lighting performance and effectively blocks UV rays…
For the remodeling of a private home in California, SUNRAY installed a practical set of fixed glass connecting corridors for the customer, simply and effectively connecting the two buildings, the main house and the guest house. customer expectation: With basic rainproof function, good natural lighting, does not affect the original building appearance, economical and practical solutions Design solution: The project adopts the structural scheme of tempered glass with aluminum alloy frame, which not only ensures sufficient structural strength, but also achieves good light transmission. During the construction process, attention was paid to the sealing treatment, and high-quality silicone sealant was used for waterproofing work to ensure that the corridor could be used normally even in the rainy season. The whole installation adopts the pre-buried parts fixing method, which is firm and reliable, but also maintains the appearance of simple and…
